I really loved this short story! Sheba trying pick up her life, getting back in the dating game. In her heart she already has feelings for Apollo and is therefor rejecting any cheap shot that comes on to her. But she's smart enough to realize that Apollo hasn't fully fallen for her charms yet and it takes time for this relationship to grow.
Of all people to meet Starbuck does sound logical... and the man he is, he would truly appreciate any woman in a dress, even if it was one that normally would catch his attention.
What I found great in the story is how it develops. Sheba being a strong woman, taking up the challenge (or invitation ) and plays along with Starbuck and even surprises him at the end. Makes you wonder how the night ended...
Good job!

Kudos? What language does that mean "drool" in!

Kudos (IPA: ['kü-"däs], ['kju:dɒs], from the Greek κύδος kydos, literally "that which is heard of") means fame and renown resulting from an act or achievement; by extension is often used as a praising remark. It entered English as British university slang in the early 1800s. Frequently used by Time magazine, it came to America in the 1920s and 1930s.
Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary states, "Some commentators hold that since kudos is a singular word it cannot be used as a plural and that the word kudo is impossible. But kudo does exist in use; it is simply one of the most recent words created by back-formation from another word misunderstood as a plural. Kudos was introduced into English in the 19th century; it was used in contexts where a reader unfamiliar with Greek could not be sure whether it was singular or plural. By the 1920s it began to appear as a plural, and about 25 years later kudo began to appear. It may have begun as a misunderstanding, but then so did cherry and pea." _________________ GALACTICA.TV | My Battlestar Galactica | Terry Carter - official site | Anne Lockhart - official site |

Apologies to Lisa for all this bullshit off topic! You can't even give a girl a simple compliment without having to explain yourself!

Not to worry, I tend to get a bit off topic myself at times. And thanks for the feedback, Marcel. I appreciate you taking the time. |

I'd use the clinical term few people know. "Analgesic." |

Heh heh. I usually do use analgesic or analgesia. Have occasionally thrown in 'T3', which is a blatant rip off of Tylenol #3 as any health care worker would know. Just trying to get into the Colonial spirit with the 'pain-terminators' instead of 'painkillers'.
Alas, "Lords of Kobol, Throw Me An Analgesic' ...or ...'Lords of Kobol, Throw Me A Pain-Terminator' both seem to lose some of the panache of the original idea. |

Plus you'd have had to pay a royalty to the drug company.
Do they even take cubits? _________________ "The dull mind rises to Truth through that which is material." -Suger
