Funny detail I learned recently: Both Kent McCord and Barry Van Dyke were approached for the original BSG as (yes, this is really true!) Apollo and Starbuck!!! Barry Van Dyke was sent the pilot script and even had several costume fittings.

That information I hadn't heard before about them up for the original Galactica. I suppose with McCord it's understandable since given his long-run on "Adam-12" that would have put him in line to get some other starring vehicle in a Universal produced show. Where'd you hear that?
