Yeah, I guess just about any part that June is associated with can lend itself to a role for Anne in some way. In a similar vein, better to have gone with her in the dreadful LIS movie instead of Mimi Rogers! |

Well, I did not think the film was 'dreadful". i was actually surprised that I liked it as much as I did.
However, had AL been tapped to play Mrs. Robinson in it, it might have rated a notch or two higher. _________________ "The dull mind rises to Truth through that which is material." -Suger

My view of it is "dreadful" kicked in once they had all that silliness with the older Will, Smith as an insect thing. Up to that point it was sort of okay, but after that they lost me. And on repeat viewings, the dysfunctional aspect of the whole Robinson family doesn't sit well with me. |

THAT was one of the aspects that rang so true with me. The non-perfectness of the Robinsons.

Yeah but when characters get reimagined as more dysfunctional, all it does is remind me of a certain other show noted for "reimaging" characters. |

Comparing the LIS movie with a certain "reeimagined" excuse for a show is like comparing a tummy ache with raging colitis.

Yes, but they are not without their similarities alas. The key difference was a semblance of respect for the original that didn't last by film's end. |

Difference of artistic opinion, I guess.

I've been watching the first episodes of "The Mod Squad" on DVD, which is the first time I've really seen the show in about thirty years, and I'm struck by how there's a resemblance to Anne in Peggy Lipton's Julie. Certainly enough to make me think that this was a show one could envision Anne in, if she'd been five years older, or if the show had debuted five years later. |

If someone does a really good remake of A Christmas Carol, seeing her as Mrs. Cratchit would be both fitting, and fun. _________________ "The dull mind rises to Truth through that which is material." -Suger

Okay, time for a thread bump! If there were a Batman series in the late 70s, Anne could have been good as either Batgirl (tough independent heroine) or a clever villainess like Poison Ivy (not Catwoman though). |

Batgirl would be cool. I have a hard time seeing her as a villianette. _________________ "The dull mind rises to Truth through that which is material." -Suger

Poison Ivy would work I think because of the general resemblance Anne I think has with the classic design of the character in the comics. Catwoman, the Siren and other famous Bat villainesses, no way. |
