Giving up so soon? C'mon; blow the old schnozola, and let's resume the battle!

Okay, in Hand of God, Adama buys the task force a drink before launching. The single most important military attack since the colonies, and Adama's sending them to the OC.

Then, in War of the Gods, Apollo's upset with the warriors the day after the night before because they're not responding to the klaxon, not because they're too hung over to stand up straight.

Well, in HOG, it's ONE drink. Sort of a send-off, since Adama knows alot of the pilots may well not make it back.
In WOG, everyone seems to have chug-a-lugged themselves into oblivion, leaving themselves, to quote 'Buckers: "They're spread all over the Fleet."

Okay, I can see one drink for Jolly, Starbuck, Bojay, etc. But what about scrawny little Brie. One drink for a small framed woman could make her intoxicated. Or a scrawny new ensign.

I'm simply saying that they weren't hung up with the effects of alcohol like we are now. They portrayed drinking as an accepted part of military life, like jiggers of rum in the Royal Navy.

Good points, but recall that the drink was to be taken advantage of NOW. There were still several centars until all was ready. The Cylon fighter needed to be prepped, as well as all the Vipers. Apollo and Starbuck needed to be briefed by Baltar, and all the rest of it. It was probably at least an hour, probably longer, from the time they chug-a-lugged until they launched.

Jolly: "If the Commander's buying, I'm drinking."
Boomer: "If anybody's buying, you're drinking, Jolly."

I know the bartender, my friend. We're good to go.

Besides, Eric probably won't find out for days. Is he even following this thread?

Double ambrosa for me. The good stuff.
