Okay, so once again we have a slight inconsistency in the plotlines, as you pointed out, Sen. Why did the SOL Beings save Terra from Destruction, but not the Colonies? I wonder if it had something to do with Humans destroying mankind, as opposed to another alien race. Are the SOL focused specifically on Humans for some reason? Perhaps they are the chosen evolutionary Race that would eventually evolve to the same spiritual plain?

All's quiet on the AL Front. Anybody out there? Wink

My take has been that the SOL Beings either could not or were interdicted somehow from interfering with the Cylon war against the Colonies. This is, in a way, their way of making up for it. Perhaps they were even unaware of the war, in one sense. After all, the Colonies/Cylon Empire are only a tiny bit of space in the whole universe.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like you're giving them a guilty conscience. "Oops. Look what happened when we were busy elsewhere." Like that?

I considered them more omnipresent than that, I suppose. I guess that's why I figured on the "mankind" focus. Yeah, they knew that the Cylons were about to devastate the colonies, but perhaps Man was supposed to learn something about that. Or perhaps, the Colonials were meant to journey to Earth for some reason. That was merely the means to the end.

True. But then the Colonies were sold out by one of their own. The Nationalists on Terra were certainly never betrayed to the Eatern Alliance by a member of their own government.
Perhaps the difference is of importance in the SOL Beings way of thinking.

Actually, the President on Terra reminded me a bit of Adar, in that he had lost his perspective or objectivity.

Actually, he reminded me of Jimmy Carter alot, although I don't know if they grow peanuts on Terra. Even so, it was not a conciouss betrayal, as with Baltar.

Well, perhaps there's nothing to learn from "you launch, we launch". Total devastation. There's no going back, and no going onward, and no lesson learned.

Maybe that's why the SOL intervened on Terra, and not the Twelve Worlds.

Or that Baltar sold out to NON-Humans. Perhaps that made some sort of difference?
AND, if Terra had done the big firework, Apollo might never have learned if it was Earth or not.

I'm still stuck on Humans "evolving". As you are now, we once were. As we are now, you may become (paraphrasing, because I can't be bothered to look). How are Humans supposed to evolve to that same plain? Is it a spiritual plain? Or something else? What do you think they meant?
