Anne Lockhart’s acting career started at the very young age of four when she starred
in the short subject Academy Award nominated film T is For Tumbleweed. At this
same time, she started appearing in multiple episodes of Lassie with her mother,
June Lockhart. In 1972, she appeared in her first feature film Jory.
She later appeared in several other feature films such as Troll,
Joyride, Dark Tower, and Big Chuck, Little Chuck.
Anne first worked for Glen Larson in an episode of Hardy Boys / Nancy
Drew Mysteries. Glen was impressed with her skills, and brought her back
for many of his other series including B.J. and the Bear, Battlestar
Galactica, Buck Rogers, The Fall Guy, Knight Rider,
and Airwolf.
For Battlestar Galactica, Glen Larson created an early script, and
had Anne in mind for one of the initial roles. She rejected the part, as the
character wasn’t that strong. Glen later created a new character just for her,
and after Anne read part of the script, immediately accepted the role of "Lt. Sheba".
Anne has done hundreds of radio and television commercials including Folgers,
Hertz, McDonald’s, Kodak, and Embassy Suites.
In 1997, Lane Davies convinced Anne to work with him in providing free
Shakespeare to the Thousand Oaks area. The Santa Susana Repertory Theatre Company
was created, and the first Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival was put on in Kingsmen
Park on the campus of California Lutheran University. It wasn’t until 2003 that
Anne was talked into participating as an actress in the Festival. She fell in
love with it at the start, and has been appearing in such roles as "Mistress
Quickly" and "the Queen of France" in Henry V, "Mistress Quickly" in
The Merry Wives of Windsor, "Maria" in Twelfth Night, "the Nurse"
in Romeo and Juliet, and "Queen Margaret" in King Richard III.
She is also currently doing voice work for many animated and feature movies
such as Chicken Little, The Wedding Crashers, Racing Stripes, as well as
top rated television shows such as West Wing and Law and Order,
among many, many others.
